Dental emergency? What to do and who to call

Dental pain rarely comes at a good time. If you have a dental problem, here is what to do.

During opening hours: call us

Call 01639 843423 (Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm). We offer same-day emergency appointments for problems such as:

  • Severe toothache
  • A broken or chipped tooth
  • A lost filling or crown
  • Swelling around a tooth or in your gums

Out of hours

In the evenings, at weekends and on bank holidays, call NHS 111 Wales by dialling 111.

Go to A&E or call 999 if:

  • Swelling is affecting your breathing or swallowing, or spreading to your eye or neck
  • You have a serious injury to your face or mouth
  • Bleeding will not stop

While you wait for your appointment

  • If a crown or filling comes out, keep it and bring it with you
  • If a tooth is broken, keep any pieces
  • Take painkillers only as directed on the packet
  • Do not put aspirin directly on your gums
